The Girls: January 2016.

Friday, January 15, 2016

The girls this past month have still been very close but Hollie is beginning to want some space from her sister to play with things like her doll house and her Lego. Until recently Amelia hasn't minded this but as she is growing up, she is wanting to play with all the things that Hollie is playing with too so this has been hard to be able to keep the peace!

Just before Christmas, we put Amelia in the bottom of Hollie's bunk bed, rather than her cot bed as we were running out of space in their bedroom. They have really loved being able to sit, read and play on Amelia's bed as we struggled to read to Hollie while she was on top of her bunk bed and so now they love to sit (and jump!) on the bottom bed. I did wonder if putting Amelia into a single bed was too soon and she is such a cheeky monkey climbing the ladder and emptying everything in the wardrobes and drawers, but she has had no trouble adjusting to the bed, so that's great.

We have been adjusting to a few things over the last month and they have been a bit tough but even though Hollie is craving more space, the girls bond is still strong and and I am thankful for that.

The girls in 2015!

Last year I did a collage of the girls for 2014 and posted it on social media but this year I thought I would post it on my blog as well.

It's been a busy year but looking forward to what 2016 brings.

Happy new year!

The Girls: October 2015

Over the last month their bond has still been the same and even though Hollie has been doing after school clubs, Amelia doesn't seem to mind and is fine playing by herself and enjoys playgroup too!

With all the nice weather we have had, we tried to get out and about. Recently we decided to go to Birmingham on the train as Amelia hadn't been on a full size train before, she has been on miniature trains but not a full size train! She really enjoyed the train and so did Hollie. Amelia was fascinated by all the sounds, announcements and stops the train was doing.

They also both love planes and love looking at them in the sky, and Amelia is really good at hearing them and wants to find where they are in the sky, so we went to the airport on the way home, to see the planes landing and taking off! I have to say I loved being nosey at the planes and the airport too!

One thing we do a lot is go to the park. We have a few favourite parks and love finding new parks and we were at a new park in the photo above. The girls love playing together at the park and helping each other and never seem to get bored of them. Can't beat free entertainment!

Up until recently the girls love to have a bath together. They love to get all the toys out and make soap bubbles (which Hollie is trying to make in the photo). Hollie has now decided she prefers a shower and wash her hair separately. I'm not sure why she has decided to do this but Amelia misses playing with her in the bath but I suppose Hollie is growing up!

The Girls: September 2015

Hollie has been back at school for a week and a half but luckily Amelia doesn't seem to have missed Hollie so far. It might just be that I have kept Amelia busy but she does get really excited when we pick Hollie up from school!

I love how Hollie really loves helping and looking after Amelia and is quite protective of her. They have started doing more things together that last longer than 5 minute, as that is what was happening before. Things like playing in the garden, drawing and colouring and playing with the play kitchen.

One thing the girls have started doing more is fighting. Now that Amelia is a lot more independent she wants anything and everything, especially things her big sister has! That's kids for you though so it will only get worse I'm sure!

The girls are still very close but I'm glad that Hollie has gone back to school and we appreciate her more when she comes home, as during the holidays it was getting a bit too much for the girls, always being on top of each other and probably contributed to the fighting I mentioned before. A little time apart is good I think!

The Girls: August 2015.

As it has been the summer holidays for the last month, the girls have spent a lot more time together. They really love to play and spend time together. The time has gone quite quickly and I feel we have kept ourselves busy too.

The Girls: July 2015

Amelia has started saying a lot more words this month and if you ask her a question which has a yes answer, she has started saying yes to it. This has really surprised us that she answers our questions but she wont answer Hollies questions to which Hollie gets really frustrated about!

The Girls: June 2015

I love to see how the girls are growing up together so thought I would join in with the Siblings linky.

The girls are really beginning to play together and enjoy each others company and they really miss each other if they aren't together. When Amelia goes for a nap, Hollie can't wait for her to wake and play!
