Celebrate and thinking of you cards.
Tuesday, September 07, 2010
The first card says thinking of you. I used a pre-made card which already had the pattern on it and added three 2" scallop circles with 3 1" butterflies on them and underneath the ribbon, I used the threading water punch. I also inked the edge of the butterflies and the card itself in brown ink. There is probably too many butterflies but never mind.
The second card just says celebrate, so it could be used for a number of different events. I used a 2" scallop circle punch and then a 1 1/2" circle punch and just stamped celebrate on top. Added two flowers with brads, some ribbon and inked the edges of the card, the flowers and the scallop circle with a purple ink and the circle with a brown ink. You can't really see the ink on the flowers in the photo but it's better in real life.
Thanks for looking.
Organiser - type 2.

I wanted to show you the organisers I made for my sister and my mum.
The first one is my mums and the second is my sisters.
It all started because my sister wanted a diary and I just went a bit mad with it and made an organiser instead. When I started to think about, I decided to make one for my mum as well.
So here's whats inside them:
At the front is a 12 month calendar, 1 month on a page. I created and printed off my computer and added a tab to every month which I just inked the edges.
I then added an envelope to store receipts.
Then I made 6 pocket pages out of card and folded it to create a pocket on either side so it can be used to store wage slips etc and can be used as 1 pocket for every month of the year.
I added a tab and wrote the date on either side on each page and again inked the edges.
At the back I added another envelope for receipts and added some paper which I stamped with the word notes.
On the outside I added a bow to each of the 3 book rings to make it pretty and just added some pva glue so they didn't come apart.
On the front and back cover, I laminated a piece of patterned paper, which makes it a good sturdy cover and rounded the corners.
My sister and my mum really liked their organisers and I really enjoyed making them, it was good fun.
The only thing I should have added, and might still do, was a piece of elastic to make a loop and thread it through a hole at the back and used a brad on the front to make a fastening to keep the organiser together.
'till the next time.
Clockwork Card.
Monday, August 30, 2010
I recently bought the Cuttlebug clockwork embossing folding as it's one of the ones that 5x7" and thought it would be good to use it on a male card.
I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Broken China on the outside, Vintage photo on the sentiment and versamagic seabreeze ink on the clock in the centre.
I added a few buttons to add a bit of dimension and especially liked the button on the centre of the clock as it has only one hole and I thought that was a bit unusual but perfect for the clock.
Similar but different.

These two cards came about because I found two pieces of kraft cardstock that I had left over from a couple of cards and were already embossed using the cuttlebug folders divine swirl (top card) and daisy (bottom card) and decided to create 2 cards around them.
This first card is alot more inked up than the second as I went a little ink crazy, but I think it still looks good.
I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo to ink the edges and I used the wavy edge on my Purple Cows trimmer to cut the card for the sentiment.
Happy 50th Birthday card.

This is a card that I made for one of my sister in laws to give to a friend.

I made it using the Making Memories Just Chillin boy papers and continued my usual male theme of using stars.
I used the Staz On ink in Timber Brown and I was impressed how clear it was. This is the first time I had used this pad as I usually use the chalk inks but will definitely be using this ink pad more. I haven't been crafting for THAT long so I'm still trying to get used to things but I'm getting there.
