After showing more ways I organised things in my craft room yesterday. Today I thought I would show how others have organised buttons, tape and dies.


Firstly buttons, I like the use of the little jars on the shelf in colour order.





Using a pretty decorative stand and some jars to separate the colours is a great way to display buttons.





If you want to store buttons out of sight, using a box that has compartments could help.




For a cheap, quick and easy solution, use wine glasses and store them a shelf.




For a DIY project, utilise an old chocolate box tray.




For washi tape, really pretty way to store and display washi tape is using an acrylic drawer from Muji.




Simply hang the tape on a mug tree.




Hang the tape up on string under a shelf.




You could DIY a project and make a holder for the tape.




For dies, you could store dies on magnetic strips like this one from Ikea.




Cover the back of doors with magnetic sheets so they are out sight but easily accessible.




This is extreme storage but if you know you will be getting or have lots of dies then it could be good storage and enables you to see what you have and use it.




Keeping dies separated by using plastic sleeves in binders.




Or create a DIY project to store them in a box neatly.




There is some great inspiration there and really enjoyed looking at them all on pinterest. Love all the colour of the buttons and tape. I really like the shelf with the little jars of buttons and the acrylic drawer with the tape in.

If you get stuck for inspiration, have a look on pinterest and type in different words that might lead you to the same thing for instance I typed in buttons storage but also left off the s on buttons and found more inspiration, it just depends on how people had spelt it when pinning the picture. Just a little tip.

The fourth part of my craft room organisation is about storing buttons, washi tapes and dies.

When I have organised things in my craft room I tend to organise them by colour rather than style or brand, but when it comes to organising buttons, I keep them organised into 2 types. First set are the buttons I bought from Sew Sweet and the second set are all the other buttons.

After I had done this, I then decided to separate them more by colour. I didn't separate them completely into colour but into a few groups of colours depending on how many were in that colour.

I used Ikea Rajtan spice jars to store the buttons and ended up with 10 jars. 5 jars with the buttons from Sew Sweet and 5 jars with buttons from other brands. I chose to keep them this way so that I know which buttons are from Sew Sweet.




To store the jars, I used 2 Ikea Bygel baskets and they are attached to the side of one of my units.





Under the lower basket is where I store my washi tape.




I use a wooden rod that is hooked on to the underside of the basket using Ikea Bygel hooks.







The washi tape simply just fit onto the rod. It's really easy to get the tape on and off.

Lastly I wanted to show you how I store my Spellbinders Nestabilities.

I chose to store them in a binder format rather than CD cases as I wanted something small in size to store them and I wasn't sure how long the CD cases would last.

So when it came to the binder, I chose to make one. I used two Bind it all covers which measured 7.5 x 5 inches and covered them using Papermania's Birdsong papers.




I created a label using a Spellbinder Nestabilities label one die and used the Echo Park Summer Days paper and some Papermania foam alphabet stickers.





To secure the dies, I used some kraft card cut to 7.5 x 5 and some magnets to hold the dies securely. Then I  just added a label to the page with the name of the die.

When it comes to storing brads, eyelets and twine, there are some great simple ideas.

For instance, using a candle holder for brads and eyelets.

For the third part of the Craft Room Organisation,  I wanted to show you how I store my brads, eyelets and bakers twine.

To start off, to store brads and eyelets, I use three clear plastic bead boxes. 2 contain brads and 1 contains eyelets.







I found these bead boxes at Hobbycraft and they are great as they are the perfect size and with the sliding closures means it is harder to open if they fall on the floor.




I decided to separate them by colour rather than style, that's the way I roll, I prefer to have things organised by colour.






The boxes stack on top of each other very neatly and I store them on a shelf with a piercing mat on top, ready for using with the brads.








To store the bakers twine, I use an Ikea Krus container. They are yet another kitchen product that I chose to use in my craft room.





It has 2 dividers which can be removed if needed and I decided to keep one in and take one out. By doing this it allowed me to store the 2 reels of twine as well as the smaller amounts.



I created some tags so that the smaller amounts of twine could be stored neatly and for any offcuts of twine. These sit in the smaller side of the box, on their sides so that I can see the colours of the twine easier.



Then the 2 reels of twine just fit in the large side of the box with the offcuts of twine.
