That Craft Place Challenge Sketch - Treat yourself
Thursday, June 21, 2012
So after a few days of having some nice weather here in the UK, it is has turned to rain, so while I had the chance I thought I would show you the card that I made for the That Craft Place Challenge blog.
I recently bought the Dovecraft's Tea Party papers as they have some lovely pastel papers in there and also bought the Forever Friends Black and Gold phrases stamps because they were half price and have some nice sentiments on them and stamp really well. It's always great to have a variety of sentiment stamps so you don't just stamp happy birthday all the time.
I did move the postition of some of the elements on the sketch but they are all still there and as the sketch was quite simple I decided to keep the card that way too.
This is the sketch.
Paper - Dovecraft Tea Party | Stamp - Forever Friends Black & Gold | Cuttlebug Seeing spots Embbossing folder | Ribbon and gems - Hobbycraft | Stickles crystal glitter.
Hope you all have a great day.
Happy Wedding Day Card in Red
Monday, June 18, 2012
I mentioned in this post that I had made two cards for our niece's wedding. Today I'm back to show you the second that I made for us to give to her.
As I had made the other card using blue I decided to make this card with red. I used 2 dies of the same set of the nestabilities lacey circles dies to create the 3 circles for the main part of the card and used 2 embossing folders on the background of the card and one for the small circles too.
To add more dimension to the hearts, I added some glossy accents to make the hearts glossy and added some stickles glitter to the flower embossing to make them sparkle.
Stamp - Lili of the valley | Cuttlebug Swiss dots, Devine Swirl and Daisy pattern embossing folders | Spellbinders Nestabilities lacey circles
dies | Ribbon - Local craft shop | Stickles crystal | Rangers Glossy Accents.
Have a great week.
Happy Father's Day - Skipping Stones Design Sketch 132

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.
Today I have a couple of cards that I made for father's day and a present for my husband.
The first card is for my husband. I decided to use the Skipping Stones Design Sketch 132.
I decided to use a label in the middle rather than a tag and added some twine and brads to add some more colour.
The second card is for my step dad.
I decided to keep this card more flat and only the stars are dimensional. I used the same stamp as the other card as it is the only father's day stamp I own and tried to keep it a little more simple.
Paper - Basic Grey Max and Whiskers and Making Memories Just Chillin | Stamp - Paula Pascual | Border Punch - Fiskars Upper Crest | Brads - Making Memories | Ribbon - Hobbycraft | Star - Fiskars Punch.
Hollie and I also decided to make a picture for her dad and this is what we came up with.
I saw this mentioned on Bits and Clips you tube channel and thought we could try and have a go at this.
I wanted to do this outside so it took a while to get a dry and sunny day so we could get some nice photos.
We tried to chose some nice dresses for her to wear and I printed out some letters, to spell dad, so that Hollie could hold them.
It did take a while as Hollie couldn't sit still and wanted to bounce on her trampoline but we got there in the end and I think it turned ok as the camera wasn't the best and this picture isn't doing it justice.
Hope you all have a good day.
Happy Wedding Day Card in blue
Friday, June 08, 2012
Last week we made the journey up to the coast near Newcastle for our niece's wedding. We had a great time and Hollie thoroughly enjoyed dancing at the disco and playing on the sand, even though the weather wasn't the best.
For the wedding I made a couple of cards. One for us to give and one for my sister in law to give.
The first one I made for my sister in law to give. I decided to go with a blue and white theme but added some silver in the end as it would have been too plain.
I used layers on the pieces of card to give it a bit of dimension and wrapped some elastic ribbon around the centre piece to add some colour and added some glitter to the butterflies to make them sparkle.
Stamp - Lili of the valley | Ribbon - Hobbycraft | Swiss dots embossing folder | Martha Stewart butterfly punch | Ink - versacolor | Glitter - Stickles crystal.
I really liked how it was quite simple in terms of the colour but has a lot of texture on the card.
Hope you all had a good week and have good weekend too.
