Well done girlies card
Wednesday, August 29, 2012
My sister recently needed a card for some friends of hers that had opened a new business and she wanted one with well done girlies on it. Obviously it would be hard to find one with that written on a card so I offered to make one for her.
I decided to make the card using the 3 ribbon technique I have used on some previous cards as I like the way it stands out, fills up the space and adds colour.
As the patterned paper is quite busy and the pink ribbon takes up a lot of space, I chose to just use a couple small butterflies and leave it at that. It didn't need anything else as it quite colourful. So pretty.

Mojo Monday Sketch 254 - Enjoy.

Hi, welcome to the blog today. I have a card that was made using the Mojo Monday sketch 254.
I wanted to use some of the papers from the Papermania Summer Bloom. There are some lovely papers in that pack and I chose some pink and blue ones.
I love the paper with the birds on and how it goes well with the brads and the button. Cute.
I decided to make a simple sentiment that could be used for more occasions than just a birthday and put it on a small tag so that it could be seen but didn't take anything away from the patterned paper.
Paper - Papermania Summer bloom | Stamp - Forever Friends Black and Gold | Doily - Wilton | Flower punch - EK Success | Ribbon - Hobbycraft and Papermania | Brads - Papermania.
Hope you all have had a good weekend and have a good week ahead.
Skipping Stones Design sketch 141 - Just fluttering by.

The weather has been nice today, almost too hot and yes, we complain when it's cold and we complain when it's too hot. Can't win really but it definitely makes you feel happier I think.
Using the Skipping Stones Design sketch 141, this week, I decided to make a simple card to say Hi.
I wanted to make a landscape card rather than the portrait sketch and decided to add a label for the sentiment, which I created using a template.
I love the embossing folder that I used on the background, although you can't see it very well here, it's quite trendy at the moment, hence the name, trendy circles!
I found the little wooden flower at The Range a few weeks ago. That shop has a lot of lovely craft items as well kitchen things and home decor. Nice shop to have a browse around. It isn't really that close to me but maybe that is a good thing, I would be there all the time!

Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Mojo Monday Sketch 253 - Wishing you a magical day

When I saw the latest sketch 253 from Mojo Monday, I thought that I would make a card for a girl.
I decided to use an image from the Dovecrafts Garden Friends stamps as I hadn't used the stamps for a while.
I attempted to paper pieced the butterfly which worked out ok and then just added some glossy accents to make it shiny.
The perfectionist in me wishes I had done the sewing straighter though but hey it's homemade and that's what it's all about, right?
Anyway, I love how the pink, orange and blue stand out against the kraft card, cute.

Mojo Monday Sketch 252.
Thursday, August 02, 2012
Today's card is for one of our nephews, who will be 15 on Friday. I decided to use the Mojo Monday Sketch 252 to create the card.
I needed to keep this card pretty flat as I needed to mail it so I decided not to use any ribbon, twine or buttons and keep everything flat but just put the stars on some dimensionals. As there was lots of colours and patterns, it didn't really miss the ribbon etc.
On the background, I used an embossing folder. I got it all straight to go in the Cuttlebug machine but when I went to put it on the card, it wasn't straight. Typical. Never mind.
Paper - My Minds Eye Lime Twist Fly a kite and Dovecraft coloured paper | Stamps - Amy R It's your birthday and Banana Frog Super Star | Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles | Border punch - Fiskars Upper Crest | Embossing folder - Tri boss chequered | Sakura white gelly roll pen | Versamagic and Colorbox chalk ink.
Hope you are having a good week.
