20th and 21st birthday cards - part 2.
Friday, May 25, 2012
Edit - I originally thought that I had 4 20th birthday cards to show you but really I have 3 20th and 1 21st. Sorry if it is confusing. Think the heat has got to me!
So here in the U.K, we have had some lovely weather and it has been great to get into the garden and start to sort it out. Trouble is, now I really ache. Oh well.
So today I have got the other two cards that I have made recently for 20th birthday and 21st birthday.
The first card I decided to go with a pink theme. I love the mulberry blossom flowers from The Ribbon Girl and so used this for my colour inspiration.
For the second card, I chose the patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket and used the colours in the paper for the embellishments on the card. Love these colours.

20th birthday cards - part 1.
Thursday, May 17, 2012
I have recently made quite a few birthday cards and today I thought that I would start off by showing you a couple of the 20th birthday cards.
The first one I chose to use the seeing spots embossing folder for the background as I love the pattern it creates. I have also really been using the lacey circle die more and more recently, it is really great to use as a starting point.
Paper - Basic Grey Origins | Stamps - Paula Pascual All year round & mix and match and Amy R It's your birthday | Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey Circle and Classic Circle dies | Cuttlebug seeing spots embossing folder | Butterflies - Martha Stewart punches | Ribbon and gems - Hobbycraft | White gelly roll pen | Ink - Versamagic and Colorbox.
For the second card, I used the lacey circle die and the classic circle dies again, for the main part of the card, where the sentiment and butterflies would go. It almost looks like a flower with the ribbon. I also like to add some stitching to the card to make it less plain. I do tend to use hand stitching because I am too lazy to get the sewing machine out. It sounds like more hard work but I kind of enjoy it.
Paper - Basic Grey Lemonade | Stamps Amy R It's your birthday | Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey Circle and Classic Circles dies | Butterflies - Marta Stewart punches | Ribbon - Dovecraft | Gems - Hobbycraft | Ink - Versamagic.
Hope you are having a good week and I will see you soon for some more cards.
Skipping Stones Sketch 127 - Big Birthday Wishes
Friday, May 11, 2012
Hi everyone, I wanted to show the card that I made for one of our nephew, Scott's birthday. I made it using the sketch 127 from Skipping Stones Designs.
I really love the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers as they are so bright and cheerful and I used the fly a kite and out of the blue papers, which are more masculine, to create this card as they combine really well.
For the star, I used a 1 inch punch and then used that as a template to make the bigger star.
When I stamped the stamp, I use Colorbox Blue Lagoon on the stamp and then went over it with Versamagic Jumbo Java to create a two tone effect. I also did this around the edges of the sentiment piece.
Paper - My Mind's Eye lime twist fly a kite and out of the blue | Stamp - Amy R It's your birthday | Twine - The Ribbon Reel | Brads - Making Memories | Buttons - Sew Sweet | Ink - Versamagic and Colorbox.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
I am hoping that we have nice weather so I can sort out the garden as it is really messy.
See you soon.
Mojo Monday sketch 239 - For the birthday girl
Saturday, May 05, 2012
Today is our niece Sophie's birthday and made her a card using the Mojo Monday Sketch 239.
I decided to make a circle card and used the lacey circle die.
To make the card sparkle, I added some stickles glitter to the butterflies and some gems to the flowers.
I decided to decorate the inside of the card as well. I don't usually decorate the inside but decided to this time. I added a circle of paper from the same paper pad and a label to write a message on.
Paper - Dovecraft Tea Party | Stamp - Amy R It's your birthday and Paula Pascual All year round | Flower - The Ribbon Girl | Butterflies - Martha Stewart | Glitter - Stickles cotton candy | Ribbon and gems - Hobbycraft | Card shape - Spellbinders Nestabilities lacey circles | Inside label - Spellbinders Nestabilities label four.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
